Uni Link Terms of Service

1. The Service

Uni Link is an online platform that connects university students ("Customers") with canteens and home kitchens ("Food Providers") operating around participating universities. Uni Link provides the platform only. Food is prepared, sold and delivered by the Food Provider, which is responsible for its food and delivery.

The Service is organised by university area. You will see the kitchens and menus for the campus you select.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or have the consent of a parent or guardian, to create an account. Food Providers must be legally able to run their business and must meet all applicable food safety and trade requirements.

3. Accounts and sign-in

• You may register with your email or mobile number and a one-time password (OTP), or sign in with Google.
• You must give accurate information and keep it up to date.
• You are responsible for all activity on your account and for keeping your login details and OTP codes private.
• Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.
• By using Google Sign-In, you also agree to Google's terms. We receive only the basic profile information described in our Privacy Policy.

4. Ordering

• Menus, prices, delivery types (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Instant) and ordering times are set by each Food Provider and may change.
• An order is accepted only when it is confirmed by the Service. We may refuse an order if an item is unavailable, the ordering window has closed, or the order appears to be invalid or fraudulent.
• You must give a correct mobile number and delivery location. Uni Link and the Food Provider are not responsible for failed delivery caused by incorrect details or by you being unavailable.
• Prices shown at checkout are final for that order.

5. Payment

Orders are currently paid by cash on delivery. You agree to pay the full order amount to the Food Provider when your order is delivered. If other payment methods are introduced, additional payment terms will apply.

6. Cancellations and problems with orders

• You may cancel an order only before the Food Provider has started preparing it, where the Service allows it.
• A Food Provider may cancel an order if it cannot fulfil it. You will be informed through the Service.
• If an order is missing items, incorrect or unsafe to eat, please report it to the Food Provider and to us as soon as possible. We will help resolve the matter fairly.
• Repeatedly refusing or not collecting cash-on-delivery orders may lead to account restrictions.

7. Food safety and allergies

Food Providers are responsible for the quality, safety, hygiene and description of their food. If you have an allergy or dietary need, check with the Food Provider before ordering. Uni Link does not prepare food and cannot guarantee that food is free from any allergen.

8. Food Provider terms

If you register as a Food Provider, you also agree that:

• Your account must be approved by Uni Link before you can sell.
• You will give accurate store, menu, price and schedule information and keep it updated.
• You will prepare and deliver orders safely, on time and as described.
• You will comply with all laws that apply to your business, including food safety laws.
• Uni Link will charge a commission on qualifying orders. The current commission rules are shown in your dashboard and may be changed by Uni Link with notice. Orders are charged under the commission rules in force when they were placed.
• Where you deliver orders yourself, any delivery share that would otherwise go to a rider is kept by you.
• Uni Link may suspend or remove your account for breach of these Terms, poor service or customer safety concerns.

9. Acceptable use

You must not:

• Give false information or impersonate another person.
• Place fake, prank or fraudulent orders.
• Harass or abuse Food Providers, customers or Uni Link staff.
• Try to access another user's account or another university area's data without permission.
• Interfere with, attack, scrape or reverse-engineer the Service.
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.

10. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close your account if you breach these Terms, if we must do so by law, or to protect users and the Service. You may close your account at any time by contacting us. Sections that by their nature should continue, such as payment obligations and limits of liability, remain in effect after closure.

11. Intellectual property

The Uni Link name, logo, website design and software belong to Uni Link. Food Providers keep ownership of the photos and content they upload, but give Uni Link permission to display and resize that content on the Service. You may not copy or reuse Uni Link content without our written permission.

12. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee that it will always be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any particular kitchen or menu item will be available.

13. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Uni Link is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss caused by the food, acts or omissions of Food Providers. Our total liability for any claim relating to an order is limited to the amount paid for that order. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Sri Lankan law.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. If you continue using the Service after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. Disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Sri Lanka.
